MEET MIKE MATOS AND FAMILY

Mike and Nikki Matos have called Jacksonville home since 2002. Mike, a U.S. Navy Veteran. He began his journey serving in Mayport aboard the U.S. Naval ship the USS Carney, before transitioning to civilian life. Continuing his commitment to public service, Mike decided to begin a career as a firefighter with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, a role he still proudly fulfills today.

With nearly a decade of experience in the outdoor kitchen and paver industry, Mike served as the Project Manager for Premier Outdoor Inc., founded by a fellow firefighter and close friend, that is known as a leading pool builder in Nocatee and Ponte Vedra. Mike and Nikki are on a mission to make Sunnyside Outdoors one of the area’s top outdoor builders, with a strong focus on quality over quantity.

Rooted in faith and family values, Mike and Nikki reside in St. John’s County with their three children, Mikey, Miley, and Charlee. Just as they care for the Jacksonville community in Mike’s role at the Fire Station, they bring the same dedication and care to the people they build for through their business. The Matos family cherishes the importance of family, friendship, and community.
